He obtained his Bachelor's Degree in English Studies, cum laude, as well as his Bachelor of Laws Degree from the University of the Philippines, where he proved his expertise in the fields of debate and legal research. He specializes in labor, civil, criminal and administrative litigation, intellectual property and legislative practice

Atty. Laurente is currently the Managing Partner of the Firm.
Before joining JLP Law, Atty. Laurente served as a researcher with the UP Law Center’s Institute of Human Rights and staff writer of its monthly publication, the Human Rights Agenda.
He is also a Director and concurrent Corporate Secretary of Neomedica Health Services, Inc., and the Corporate and Assistant Corporate Secretary of several other corporations.
