RESOLUTION No. 8879 DEPUTATION OF THE DEPARTMENT OF SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY TO PROVIDE TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE/SUPPORT TO THE NATIONAL DATA CENTERS IN CONNECTION WITH THE MAY 10, 2010 NATIONAL & LOCAL ELECTIONS. Promulgation: 07 May 2010WHEREAS, Republic Act No. 8436, as amended by Republic Act No. 9369, has authorized the Commission on Elections to use an automated election system for the voting, counting, consolidation, canvassing and transmission of election results in connection with the May 10, 2010 National & Local Elections;
WHEREAS, to pursue this mandate, the Commission has established National Data Centers with the following servers for the transmission of the results of the elections;
WHEREAS, to ensure the effective and uninterrupted transmission of election results from the polling place and canvassing centers to the different servers there is need that the National Data Centers be manned by IT capable personnel; NOW, THEREFORE, the Commission, by virtue of the powers conferred upon it by the Constitution, the Omnibus Election Code, Republic Act No. 9369, and other election laws, the Commission RESOLVES, as it hereby RESOLVED, to DEPUTIZE the Department of Science and Technology to make available its IT capable personnel to provide technical support/assistance in the National Data Centers. Let the Automation Project Management Office implement this Resolution. SO ORDERED.
